The MTC- A Spiritual Feast

Our nine days at the MTC went by in a whirlwind. We can’t even describe the complexity of feelings we had while we were here. Nor can we remember half of what we learned. What we can remember, though, is the dedication of all those who presented and taught us, including the young returned sister missionaries who were humble, spiritual, and fully prepared to lift and edify us. We loved the environment of the MTC. It was sort of like a spiritual Disneyland! One of the happiest places on earth. The young missionaries were eager to talk to us and share their experiences. We loved being around them. It seems there is an abundance of strong, capable, willing and personable young adults in the church.

We were divided into districts for the first week, and ours consisted of four couples who were all serving as humanitarian missionaries- all over the world! We really enjoyed getting to know them and feel they will be excellent at serving in their countries. The second week was focused solely on humanitarian issues. We were given a whole lot of things we will somehow need to remember, practiced on some case studies, learned the Church computer system for reporting and tracking humanitarian projects, how to get along with our spouse since we will be joined at the hip for 18 months, and many more useful things. The leaders and consultants were humble, prayerful and truly great examples for us. We will miss the environment here, but feel mostly ready to move on.

Our District! We Are all humanitarian missionaries going all over the world!
